minily Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This policy covers the website minily.app and the waitlist for the minily app. The app itself will get its own privacy policy when it launches. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who is responsible

When you visit minily.app

Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. On every visit, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, the time, the page you open, your browser and your device, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We do not keep server logs ourselves.

No cookies. minily.app sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Measurement. We use PostHog to count page views, sign-ups, confirmations and unsubscribes, and to see which link brought visitors here, for example a video or a search. We count on our server; no PostHog script runs in your browser. PostHog receives no IP address and never your email address, only the language, the link you came from and, for sign-ups, a random number for your entry. The data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website and in knowing which ways to minily work (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you join the waitlist

The waitlist is for adults, such as parents and parents-to-be. We store:

Confirmation. After you sign up, we send you an email with a button. You are on the waitlist only after you click it. The button works for seven days. If you do not click it in time, we delete your address, and you can simply sign up again. We keep the time of sign-up and confirmation to show that you agreed.

If someone signs up with an address that is already on the list, that address gets a short email. The site shows the same message as for any sign-up, so nobody can check whether someone else’s address is on the list.

What for. We email you as soon as you can pre-order and download minily. Until then, you get at most one email a week about minily, for example how Pip writes the pages or what happens to your photos.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). We keep the proof of your consent and the link you came from based on our legitimate interest in showing that you agreed and in knowing which ways to minily work (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

You do not have to give us any data. Without an email address, however, we cannot put you on the waitlist.

Your baby’s age and Android

In the welcome email you can tap how old your baby is (Not born yet, 0 to 6 months, 7 to 12 months, Over 1 year) and whether you have an Android phone. This is up to you. We store what you tap with your address. If you tap again, the new answer replaces the old one.

“Not born yet” shows that someone is pregnant. This is health data and specially protected. We store it only if you tap it yourself and use it only as described here.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for “Not born yet” also Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). Email us if you want us to delete these answers; you stay on the waitlist.

We store nothing else about your child: no name, no date of birth, no photos.

Links in our emails

Links in our emails carry a tag for that email, for example “wl-m2”, so we can see which email leads to visits and sign-ups. The tag belongs to the email, not to you. We do not track whether you open an email. Only the buttons to confirm, to unsubscribe and to answer the age and Android questions are linked to your address, so they can work.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in knowing which emails are useful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

When you write to us

If you reply to an email or write to hello@minily.app, we receive your address and your message. We read every message, answer it and learn from it what parents need. Inside our team we use sentences from messages only without names or addresses, and we publish nothing without your permission. We keep messages as long as the conversation needs.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and improving minily (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who helps us

These service providers process data only on our instructions and are bound by a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR):

USA. We are based in the USA, and so are these providers, so your data is also processed in the USA. For transfers from the EU we rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) where the provider is certified under it, and otherwise on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR). Email us for a copy.

How long we keep data

Unsubscribe and delete

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click is enough. After that you get no more emails: we delete your entry right away and cancel any scheduled emails. Our email provider keeps its own sending logs for a short time. This also withdraws your consent; anything before the withdrawal stays lawful. You can also just email hello@minily.app.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you and have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can get your data in a common format and withdraw your consent at any time (Art. 7(3) and 15–20 GDPR). Just email us.

Right to object. Where we process data based on our legitimate interest, you can object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds.

You can also complain to a data protection authority, in particular where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).

We make no automated decisions about you and do not create profiles (Art. 22 GDPR).

If you live outside the EU, you have the same rights here, plus any rights the privacy law of your country gives you.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change matters for the waitlist, we email you before it takes effect.
